An Indian Parliamentary delegation representing both Upper and Lower Houses on Tuesday stressed the need for launching concerted and determined efforts to ensure everlasting peace between the two South Asian neighbors and solve all issues including the Kashmir conflict.

A report of the Associated Press of Pakistan said that the six-member Indian delegation headed by Kuldip Nayyer, a noted Indian journalist and member of Parliament, came to Pakistan from Wagha border near Lahore on Tuesday afternoon.

Three more members will arrive here Wednesday from different countries including Dhaka and Dubai.

The Indian delegation is visiting Pakistan on the invitation ofthe Pakistan-India People's Forum of Peace and Democracy, headed by former Pakistani Finance Minister Mubashar Hassan.

Talking to national and international media, Kuldip Nayyer saidhe was proposing a forum of India-Pak legislators for dispelling misapprehensions and promoting peace and fraternity between the two countries.

He said that it was more unfortunate that the huge population of sub-continent was still living in a state of ignorance and poverty and said it was encouraging that people are interested in "people-to-people contact" between the two countries.

"People are taking more peace initiatives for resuming talks and establishing better ties between Pakistan and India," Kuldip Nayyer said, adding he was optimistic about forthcoming parleys between leaders of the two countries.

Answering another question, Nayyer said he strongly advocated abolition of visa restrictions and running of two bus services besides daily train services between the two countries.

Chief of Pakistan-India Forum of Peace and Democracy Mubashar Hassan received Indian visitors at the border. The delegation willalso visit Islamabad and Karachi before returning home on June 25.
