State Promotion Days for Foreign Delegations to be Held in Int'l Investment Fair

The seventh China international investment and trade fair is due to be held from Sept. 8 to Sept. 11 in east China's coastal city of Xiamen, and will hold State Promotion Days for participating government delegations.

The fair, China's sole foreign direct investment-oriented national promotion event, was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and co-sponsored by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), said senior organizer and vice-mayor of Xiamen, Huang Ling.

The fair will focus on China's newly-opened investment fields and the country's main fields for attracting foreign capital afterChina's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), as well as issues on international investment, Huang said.

An international forum on investment environment and international competitive advantage will be held during the fair, followed by a series of seminars, added Huang.

The seminars will focus on transnational mergers, international logistics, foreign capital intake in the high-tech field and foreign investment in the services and trade sector, Huang said.

The fair also includes match-making meetings for selected sectors, the vice-mayor noted, adding that the fair's Web site, www.chinafair.org.cn, was available for consultation.
