Comoro President Visits South China's Scenic Guilin City

Visiting President Azali Assoumani of the Union of Comoros says he will never forget the beautiful scenery in this tourist resort of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Visiting President Azali Assoumani of the Union of Comoros says he will never forget the beautiful scenery in this tourist resort of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

President Azali, who arrived here on Friday afternoon with his party to continue the state visit to China, spoke after they toured vivid Lijiang River with limpid water, a typical local street and a pilot farm.

President Azali, the first foreign head of state to tour the city since China was hit by the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) epidemic, said that local government had made efforts to protect Guilin's environment, and the city would attract more visitors with its unique landscape.

The Comoro president said the beautiful city of Guilin remindedhim of his own home, which also boasted very nice scenery.
