Intermediate Website of BOCOG to Open on July 13

The intermediate Website of Beijing Organizing Committee will formally open on July 13, the 2nd anniversary of the Beijing's successful bidding for the Olympic Games 2008.

According to the spokesman of Beijing Organizing Committee for 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG), the intermediate Website of Beijing Organizing Committee will formally open on July 13, the 2nd anniversary of the Beijing's successful bidding for the Olympic Games 2008.

The intermediate website of Beijing Organizing Committee is developed on the basis of an elementary one. After realizing all of its functions, the intermediate website will be provided with the functions of excellent information service and network service. On the one hand, the website will help the effective information searching, provide colorful and immediate news of Olympic Games in several languages and become the window of the Organizing Committee to demonstrate its slogan of "New Beijing, New Olympic Games". And on the other, it will provide the society with some services, namely, it'll act as a link and a bridge between Beijing Organizing Committee and the masses of the people, thereby improving people's enthusiasm to take part in the Olympic Games.

The construction of the intermediate website of Beijing Organizing Committee is an important part of the preparatory work of 2008 Olympic Games. It is set up in line with the Hosting City Contract, General Plan for Preparation Work of the Olympic Games and International Olympic Committee's requirement on the official website of Beijing Organizing Committee. As learned that www.people.com.cn under People's Daily, Capinfo Company Limited, Xinao Company and www.sohu.com have jointly taken part in the construction of the intermediate Website of Beijing Organizing Committee. According to the plan of International Olympic Committee (IOC), the intermediate website will be upgraded to the sports website in April 2008.
