More than 100,000 Egyptians gatheredat al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo after the Friday prayers in protest against the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands and the US control of Iraq.

The protesters condemned "the Israeli massacres in the Palestinian territories and the assassination of the Iraqi people at the hands of US occupation troops," the official MENA news agency reported.

They rejected a US claim that the Palestinians' resistance against Israel is related to terrorism, saying such a resistance is not terrorism but a legitimate right for the people whose lands are occupied.

The rally also called for boycotting Israeli, US and British goods until the occupation is over.

The United States has been under sharp criticism over its occupation of Iraq since it ousted former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on April 9.
