17 Killed in Road Accident in Pakistan

At least 17 people including three women and four children were killed and four others seriously injured on Saturday when a passenger coach plunged into a deep ravine in northern Pakistan, local English newspaper Statesman reported Sunday.

At least 17 people including three women and four children were killed and four others seriously injured on Saturday when a passenger coach plunged into a deep ravine in northern Pakistan, local English newspaper Statesman reported Sunday.

The road accident happened near Ghallanai, about 100 kilometersnorthwest of Peshawar, capital of North West Frontier province.

The driver of the Peshawar-bound coach packed with passengers lost control over it while negotiating a sharp turn and lowered into a deep ravine, resulting in the instant death of six people.

Eleven others succumbed to critical wounds on the way to a nearby hospital. The driver also died in the accident.
