Two Killed in Torrential Rains in SW City
Two people were killed Tuesday night as torrential rains pounded Yibin City in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Two people were killed Tuesday night as torrential rains pounded Yibin City in southwest China's
Sichuan
Province.
A total of 83.4 mm fell on Xingwen County in the ten hours from10 p.m. Tuesday night to 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, inundating almost 2,667 hectares of farmland and affecting 15 villages.
Water were found in more than 1,500 houses of local farmers, over 30 others collapsed, and 20 percent of the mining enterpriseswere forced to suspend operations.
Rescue work is ongoing.
