Normal customs clearance services have resumed at three more ports in northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the aftermath of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

According to local sources, the three ports that resumed their clearance services Tuesday are Horgos, Buktu and Alataw Pass, all situated on the border between Xinjiang and Kazakhstan.

As a precautionary measure during the SARS crisis, customs clearance services were suspended at several trading ports in thiswesternmost Chinese autonomous region, including the above-mentioned three ports, said the local sources.

In a related development, restrictions on exit and entry at Jeminay port in Xinjiang were lifted on June 30.
