The Chinese website blogchina.com, highly critical of online porn services, has fallen victim to hackers and remains unavailable for access, according to the website source.

"Organized" hackings on the website server have resulted in lengthy shutdowns, and users have not been able to log in, said Fang Xingdong, founder and owner of the website Tuesday.

Fang said between 10 p.m. (2:00 p.m. GMT) on July 4 and 5 p.m. on July 6, hacking assaults of 40-plus hours had occurred and are continuing, paralyzing the website completely, Fang said, quoting his technicians.

Fang is an Internet critic known in China for his encyclopedic knowledge of China's web industry. His website, blogchina.com, recently launched a campaign against online porn services, with erotic, lucrative short messages especially under fire. Some of the online porn is provided by leading Chinese search engines, including some listed on the US-based technology-firms NASDAQ stock market.

Fang believes that the attacks may be in response to his critical articles, acts of revenge by websites with porn services. He did not name the possible perpetrators.

Fang said he has reported his dilemma to police and expressed his hope that the "illegal attacks" will end.
