East China Province Reports Marked Increase in Exports

East China's Fujian province reaped 13.245 billion US dollars in import and export revenue during the first five months this year, up 25.8 percent year-on-year, according to statistics from the Fuzhou Customs Bureau.

East China's Fujian province reaped 13.245 billion US dollars in import and export revenue during the first five months this year, up 25.8 percent year-on-year, according to statistics from the Fuzhou Customs Bureau.

Export and import revenues for the same period were 7.894 billion US dollars and 5.351 billion US dollars, up 25.8 and 26.6 percent, respectively.

The province earned a cumulative trade surplus of 2.543 billionUS dollars from January to May of this year.

In May alone, Fujian raked in 2.954 billion US dollars in import and export revenue, up 33.8 percent year-on-year, with export and import revenues at 1.636 billion US dollars and 1.318 billion US dollars, respectively. The province recorded a trade surplus of 318 million US dollars in May.
