Senior CPC Official Meets UNDP Representative in China

Wang Zhaoguo, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met here Wednesday with Kerstin Leitner, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) resident representative in China.

Wang Zhaoguo, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met here Wednesday with Kerstin Leitner, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) resident representative in China.

Wang, also vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, and president of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, briefed the guest on China's political,economic and social development.

He expressed appreciation for a joint project between the UNDP and China's trade unions to provide loans for laid-off workers to set up small businesses.

He said he hoped that the two sides will cooperate in more fields.
