Tibet Reports Fast Rise in Fixed Asset Investment

Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region registered 4.039 billion yuan (481 million US dollars) in fixed asset investment in the first half of the year, a rise of 87 percent year-on-year, according to the region's statistics bureau.

Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region registered 4.039 billion yuan (481 million US dollars) in fixed asset investment in the first half of the year, a rise of 87 percent year-on-year, according to the region's statistics bureau.

Investment in capital construction and renovation projects stood at 3.477 billion yuan (418 million US dollars) and 199 million yuan (23.9 million US dollars) respectively, in the same period, with the latter showing a year-on-year rise of 130 percent.

Meanwhile, investment in the real estate sector stood at 79 million yuan (9.5 million US dollars), down 32.4 percent year-on-year, according to the statistics.

In addition, a comprehensive rise was recorded in investment intertiary industries, which recorded 3.047 billion yuan (366 million US dollars) in the first six months this year, representing a rise of 87.9 percent year-on-year.
