A small fire hit the Tour Eiffel in central Paris on Tuesday evening. No one was injured.
The fire broke out at about 19:25 (13:25 GMT) on the highest floor of the historical building in the French capital. The smoke was no longer seen after 20:00 (14:00 GMT). About 500 people were immediately evacuated, according to the police.
"No one is injured. It is a small fire," said Jean-Bernard Bros, President of the Company of Tour Eiffel. It is believed that the fire was caused by a short-circuit, police said.
