CPPCC Chairman Meets Ugandan Guests

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met here Thursday with a delegation of the National Movement of Uganda.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met here Thursday with a delegation of the National Movement of Uganda.

The delegation was led by Crispus Kiyonga, national political commissar of the National Movement of Uganda.

Jia, also a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said China and Uganda are both developing countries and thus sharecommon or similar views on many key international issues.

China is grateful to Uganda for its adherence to the "one-China" policy and for its support on the issues of human rights and Taiwan, Jia said.

The CPC and the Chinese government are willing to join with Uganda to actively explore bilateral cooperative potential in all fields and to raise bilateral friendly cooperation to a new level,he said.

Kiyonga spoke highly of the significant achievements of China'smodernization process and said the National Movement of Uganda greatly values its friendship with the CPC.

He said the National Movement of Uganda is willing to study andlearn from China's development experience and to work with the Chinese side to explore bilateral economic cooperation and improvepersonnel exchanges in order to boost bilateral friendly cooperation and achieve greater results.
