A sweltering humid mist has settled on
Beijing
, limiting visibility to just 1,000 meters.
The uncomfortable weather started Wednesday, and local meteorologist Li Huan'an attributed it to the 90 percent relative humidity in the city.
"Beijing's weather is influenced by a strong warm and humid current. The mist caused by evaporation remains stable because no strong winds blow it away," he said.
Beijing Meteorological Station predicted that heavy rain on Sunday or Monday could reduce the mist, but it could increase again if drizzle follows the rain.
