At least 96 Bangladeshi fishermen were missing as eight fishing trawlers capsized in the Bay of Bengal on Saturday, reported the Daily Star Sunday.

Thirty-two fishermen from two capsized trawlers were rescued on Saturday, while at least 96 fishermen from the other six sunken trawlers still remained missing in the stormy sea.

The stormy weather forced over 200 fishing trawlers to take shelter in the offshore areas of north Bangladesh, and the launch operation on 13 routes in these areas has been suspended since Friday because of the wretched weather and high waves in the Bay of Bengal.
