26 Asian-African Countries to Attend AASROC in Indonesia's Bandung

Representatives from 26 countries are going to attend Asian-African Sub-Regional Organizations Conference (AASROC) on July 29-30 in Bandung, West Java.

Representatives from 26 countries are going to attend Asian-African Sub-Regional Organizations Conference (AASROC) on July 29-30 in Bandung, West Java.

"There has been a certainty on the attendants to the AASROC," Asia Pacific and African Directorate General Makarim Wibisono was quoted Monday by the daily Media Indonesia as saying.

President Megawati Soekarnoputri is scheduled to open the international conference on Tuesday which will be attended by 16 foreign ministers, nine minister representatives and several envoys of donor countries.

Makarim said the meeting will discuss the efforts to create a partnership strategy between Asia and Africa in facing challenges in the future as well as how to prepare Asian-African Summit in April 2005.
