For Whom Does Jackie Chan Feel Pity and Shed Tears?

Tears trickled down the cheeks of Jackie Chan. For Jackie, this doesn't mean to join in for fun on occasion. In the realistic life, this internationally famous movie star really shed his heart-aching tears. Why and for what? For the ugly show of a handful of people in Hong Kong.

A few days ago, the world-renowned football team - the British Liverpool was invited to put on a performing match in Hong Kong. This was one of the measures taken by the Hong Kong SAR Government to "boost the morale" for reshaping the image of Hong Kong when the severe acute respiratory syndrome was over. However, the day prior to the match when the football team was having its practice, an act of farce occurred, making the Hong Kong citizens to "lose their international face". The moment when Tung Chee Hwa, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR was going to watch the practice and met the team leader and the players as well, over half of the 2000 football-funs on the scene made big boos. Though Tung was in all smiles yet this made the foreign friends feel rather puzzled.

This has made the author in front of the TV set feel surprised and got his back up for it. Our brother Jackie Chan acknowledged openly that he shed his tears and felt heart-aching, thinking that the act taken by these Hong Kong people in front of the distinguished foreign guests was really very and very ugly. Afterwards, when Jackie accepted the interview of the media he expounded the point by saying that some Hong Kong people tried often to "call Tung Chee Hwa down". I would like to ask who's going to be the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR when Tung was shooed away? I myself am not pro Tung nor against him, emphasized he. But I hope that all Hong Kong people would love Hong Kong by uniting as one instead of making troubles day and night. At this point our brother Jackie said very excitedly there were the Liverpool foreign guests and reporters from the world on the spot. I would like to ask the Hong Kong people for an answer what an image these people would bring to Hong Kong by doing this in the face of the world. For many years I haven't asked the Hong Kong Government to do anything for me but often I asked myself what I have done and what to do for Hong Kong. All people here must unite and revitalize the economy instead of stirring up troubles among us. For it's too ugly! In the face of the international media you should at least put on a better show. He also revealed that the "Jackie-Goers" the world over were ready to come to Hong Kong for the maiden show of his new film "Reborn of Flying Dragon". Since there happened on "July 1" a demonstration event the "Jackie-goers" are worrying of "something might happen" and so they "quitted from the scene one after another".

The mere ugly behavior done in front of the "outsiders" has exposed that part of the Hong Kong people are really lack of education and of low quality. Going into street for demonstration and making trouble, this has scared away many "Jackie-goers" who would like to come. Should this continue to go on the image of Hong Kong in the international arena would beyond doubt be besmeared. Born in the year of dragon our Brother Jackie is now "on the wrong side of fifty". The event of "shooing off the Chief Executive" has made him get to know what real crisis Hong Kong is now facing, and so the heart-aching tears trickled down his cheeks. As a man, he normally wouldn't shed his tears only because nothing sad has touched the heartstring. Our brother Jackie is now feeling sad for part of the Hong Kong people who are of no bones for doing anything good, and felt aching for the ceaseless internal strife and worried for the prospect of Hong Kong ahead. Instead of "doing something" for Hong Kong, he's worrying of the evil habits of "hands out only for something". This will ruin the Hong Kong eventually. I sincerely hope that the people in Hong Kong will "stop making trouble among themselves" but unite as one for revitalizing the economy. Actually this is also the common wish of the overwhelming majority of the people in Hong Kong.

Notwithstanding, trees may prefer to stay calm but the wind won't yield to buffet them. For the Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the implementation of the policy "one country two systems" it's won't do nor is it realistic to go forcibly against it. However, a "shadowing antagonism" can last long. The deep root for the thinking of antagonism lies in the spiritual bequest left over by the rule of colonialism over the past hundred hears in Hong Kong. One of the aims for colonial education is to reduce those being slaved to be tamed tools of having no country of their own nor any conception of a nation. In this respect the British rulers in Hong Kong proved to have done a thing quite successful. Though Hong Kong has returned to China for six years the spiritual spectre of colonialism is still stubbornly haunting over the behavior of quite some people here. This is a fact not to be changed subject to ones subjective wishes. Though many of them are striving to shatter off the spiritual fetters imposed upon them in the bygone times yet the basic patterns remain unchanged. Up to the present moment, the "pro-China" are still being disdained in secrecy and some university students even take "loyal to, and defend ones own country" as a sort of shame. This is an apt "notation" to the spiritual situation here in this society.

For some forces hostile to Hong Kong's return to the Chinese motherland, and to the policy of "one country two systems" they have taken over the rich "spiritual bequest" handed down by the British Authorities in Hong Kong, grasping every chance in reality to make disturbances in Hong Kong first, and further to spearhead the attack against China. In the meanwhile when our brother Jackie Chan was shedding tears for the ugly behavior by part of the Hong Kong people there must be somebody laughing up his sleeves. For this is what they would like to see most. To lose face of the Hong Kong people by making a farce in the face of the world they feel pleased to have Hong Kong in chaos. This is their innate nature.

The warm tears of Jackie Chan provided confidence for the people in Hong Kong to see the bright vista ahead. The stealthy laughter of some hobgoblins help make the people sober in mind, making them to see clearly the long expedition and difficulties that lie ahead of them.
