SADC Calls for Closer Link with China
Celebrating its 11th birthday here Friday, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) is extending welcoming arms to Chinese investors.

Celebrating its 11th birthday here Friday, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) is extending welcoming arms to Chinese investors.
At a ceremony marking the anniversary in
Beijing
, Ambassador Joao Manuel Bernardo of
Angola
, the current SADC chair country, thanked China for playing an active role in supporting regional development of southern Africa and hoped to promote cooperation with China in such fields as investment and tourism.
"SADC is the most promising market for China", said ChristopherMutsvangwa, ambassador of
Zimbabwe
. He welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in southern African countries.
Formally established on August 17, 1992, the SADC now has 14 member countries. It was based on the former Southern African Development Coordination Conference.
