Ministries and Commissions Must All Use Homemade Office Software Henceforth
According to the news from the Government Procurement Center for China's State Organs, a new regulation in regard to the administration of the government procurement has been unveiled, in which it is compulsorily stipulated that ministries and commissions must accordingly use homemade software system for office work.

As revealed Gao Zhigang, Head of No.1 Division of the Government Procurement Center for China's State Organs, the hardware products procured by the government must be preinstalled with homemade operation and application systems. Special application must be made in accordance with the relevant management regulation upon the approval for the installation of foreign software if it is necessary. The point of departure of the regulation is based on the information security and supporting the development of domestic software industry.
According to Gao Zhigang, it caters to the international practice to support the development of national industry by way of government procurement. As learned at the working conference for carrying out and fulfilling "Action Compendium To Promote Software Industry" called jointly by Informationzation Office of the State Council, National Development and Planning Commission, Ministry of Information Industry, State Economic and Trade Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Education and National Copyright Administration, the delegates reached unanimous conclusion that the policy of government procurement is the most useful and best-executed one for the development of China's software industry.
