Police Documents Show Hambali not Involved in Philippine Embassy Bombing

Asia's top terrorist Hambali is not included in Indonesian police documents concerning the bomb attack on the Philippine embassy in Jakarta although Hambali was accused of being responsible for the Aug. 1, 2000 bombing.

Asia's top terrorist Hambali is not included in Indonesian police documents concerning the bomb attack on the Philippine embassy in Jakarta although Hambali was accused of being responsible for the Aug. 1, 2000 bombing.

The Jakarta-based Metro TV reported Friday the self-confessed bomber, Abdul Jabar, did not name Hambali in his dossier.

A prosecutor was quoted as saying that Jabar failed to include Hambali maybe because the suspected al Qaida operative was still on the run when the dossier was made.

Several key suspects such as Imam Samudera, Faturrahman Al-Ghozi, Amrozi were included in the dossier.

Jabar has surrendered himself to the police and admitted carrying out the attack on the Philippine ambassador's official residence on Imam Bonjol street in Jakarta that killed 2 people and injured dozens others, including ambassador Leonides Caday.
