No Change in Pyongyang's Stand on Nuclear Issue: KCNA

There is no change in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s stand on the settlement of the nuclear issue, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in a commentary on Tuesday.

There is no change in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s stand on the settlement of the nuclear issue, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in a commentary on Tuesday.

"We have no change of our confirmed will that the nuclear issuebetween the DPRK and United States should be settled through peaceful dialogue," the commentary said.

The commentary came after the DPRK, the United States, China, Russia, Japan and South Korea held six-party talks in Beijing lastweek.

During the talks, the DPRK put forward a package of solutions, including the United State signing a non-aggression treaty and establishing diplomatic relations with the DPRK, the guaranteeing of DPRK-Japan and inter-Korean economic cooperation, and the completion of construction of light-water reactors.

In return, the DPRK will not manufacture nuclear weapons and will allow nuclear inspections, realize the ultimate dismantlementof nuclear facilities and stop the export of and experiments with missiles.

"However, if the United Stated does not abandon its anti-DPRK policy and continues the nuclear confrontation with the DPRK, we will enforce our nuclear deterrent force for safeguarding the national sovereignty," the commentary warned.
