During the meeting, Tanayev told Li that there has been great development in political and economic relations between Kyrgyzstanand China since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1992.

China's assistance to Kyrgyzstan for many years and substantivecooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China in the fields of communications, transportation, economy and trade have contributedto promoting economic development in Kyrgyzstan, according to Tanayev.

The premier expressed the hope that the two countries will further tap potential in bilateral cooperation.

Earlier in the day, Li also met separately with other Kyrgyz leaders and senior officials including Speaker of the Legislative Assembly (upper chamber) Abdygany Erkebayevich Erkebayev, Speaker of the Assembly of People's Representatives (lower chamber) Altay Borubayev and Foreign Minister Askar Aytmatov.

Speaking on the same occasions, Li said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, China and Kyrgyzstan have supported each other in major issues of common concern and have fully solved the border issues between them.

The two countries have also closely cooperated with each other in fighting the three evil forces of terrorism, separatism and religious extremism as well as in international and regional organizations, Li said.

China wishes to further cooperate with Kyrgyzstan in promoting economic and trade relations between the two countries, according to Li.

The Chinese foreign minister arrived here earlier Saturday for a two-day visit following a visit to Uzbekistan.
