Chinese Xu Wins Opening Race of World Cup Aerial Season

Xu Nannan of China upset Olympic and world champion Alisa Camplin of Australia to win the opening race of World Cup aerial season at Mt. Buller, Australia, on Saturday.

-- Xu Nannan of China upset Olympic and world champion Alisa Camplin of Australia to win the opening race of World Cup aerial season at Mt. Buller, Australia, on Saturday.

Xu beat Camplin by a margin of 0.65 points to win the gold medal. Another Australian Lydia Ierodiaconou finished third.

Camplin was surprised by the result but said Xu deserved to win.

The men's aerial event will be held later Saturday.
