At Least 34 Killed in Venezuela Bus Crash

A passenger bus collided with a stopped truck on a western Venezuela highway Tuesday, killing at least 34 people and injuring 28 others, officials said.

A passenger bus collided with a stopped truck on a western Venezuela highway Tuesday, killing at least 34 people and injuring 28 others, officials said.

Rescue officials said the accident occurred on a highway between Carabobo and Yaracuy states when the bus was traveling to the western city of Valencia, about 200 km from the capital. So far there were 34 confirmed deaths.

Earlier on Tuesday, another bus crashed into a truck on the same highway, killing 10 people.

Local officials said the cause of the two accidents were under investigation, and there had been rainy in the area and the roads were slippery.
