Broad band users of China Telecom exceeds 6 million

China Telecom, the national leading telecommunication operator, announced recently that the number of its broad band users had exceeded 6 million, thus bringing the nation's total broad band user to 10 million, accounting for one seventh of China's total Internet surfers.

The broadened band provides a rapid passage for various value-added services that can never be dreamed by dial-up users. Taking China Telecom's recent plan "ChinaVnet" as an example, the website has eight channels as film, game, music, securities, education, live broadcast, documentary and "she age", in which users could enjoy without any barrier many services including online video, games and education. These services, by their charming contents, attracted 1.35 million broad band users in two months and a half. On September 15 China Telecom announced "ChinaVnet's" entry into an all-round business stage.

Meanwhile, another fixed network company, China Netcom, also speeded up its broad band promotion, and Chinese Internet surfers could expect more satisfactory services from competition between the two telecom giants.
