Retired US Gen. Wesley Clark decided Tuesday to enter the presidential race, US media reports said.
With the decision, Clark, a four-star general without political experience, became the 10th Democratic presidential candidate, reports from Little Rock, Arkansas, quoted sources close to Clark as saying.
"He's made his decision and will announce it tomorrow in LittleRock," a spokesman for Clark was quoted as saying.
Clark made the decision at a meeting of advisors at his hometown of Little Rock, including two top advisors of former VicePresident Al Gore in his 2000 presidential campaign -- Mark Fabiani, a California strategist, and Ron Klain, Gore's former chief of staff.
Clark, 58, has hesitated to discuss his intentions for months, but his supporters initiated a draft-Clark movement on the Internet that has earned more than 1 million US dollars in pledgesfor a possible campaign.
