Chinese girls win gold, silver medals at ISSF worlds

A pair of Chinese 19-year-old girls, Dai Qiwen and Liu Zhongyan, won the gold and silver medals respectively in the junior women's double trap event at the 2003 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championships Tuesday in Nicosia.

A pair of Chinese 19-year-old girls, Dai Qiwen and Liu Zhongyan, won the gold and silver medals respectively in the junior women's double trap event at the 2003 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championships Tuesday in Nicosia.

So far, the Chinese delegation has grabbed three gold, three silver and one bronze medals during the shotgun event, which opened here on Thursday and ends late in the day.

Some 900 athletes and officials from 73 countries and regions participate in the championships, which provides seven berths for the 2004 Olympic Games.
