At 9:00 a.m. on Sep. 15 the west-east pipeline had the last section of traversing the Yellow River by pipe jack at Zhengzhou got through, which marks that the whole line of traversing the Yellow River, one of the three decisive projects, has been linked up.

With a total length of 7645 meters, the project of crossing the Yellow River at Zhengzhou consists of directional drilling part and jacking part. The jacking part at the main river trough, a hard nut to crack generally recognized by experts at home and abroad, is to lay pipe jacks with a 1.8-meter caliber running for 3600 meters in three sections 23-25 meters beneath the water surface.

Due to the concerted efforts of China West-East Gas Pipeline Company and China Railway 16th Group Co., Ltd., the project of crossing the Yellow River was completed successfully 15 days ahead of time, coupled with a new record in wide-caliber pipe jacks crossing at a long distance.
