Sino-US export control seminar opens in Shanghai

The two-day Sino-US Export Control Seminar opened Wednesday in Shanghai, with some 200 officials, experts and enterprises from China, the United States, Japan and other countries attending the seminar.

The two-day Sino-US Export Control Seminar opened Wednesday in Shanghai, with some 200 officials, experts and enterprises from China, the United States, Japan and other countries attending the seminar.

Zhou Ruojun, an official with China's Ministry of Commerce, said China has established an export control legal system coveringsensitive goods and technologies concerning nuclear, biological, chemical and missile areas.

She said China's export control runs well and its serious position and active attitude have been widely recognized by the international community.

Ma Shengkun, an official with the Ministry of Foreign affairs, said China has been working hard to carry out the policy of non-proliferation.

He said the Chinese government will work with the internationalcommunity to push the progress of non-proliferation for global andregional peace and stability.
