China's new amendment of land-using planning begins

On September 15, China's new amendment of land-using planning officially started. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony of the advanced-studying class jointly conducted by the Ministry of Land and Resources and Lincoln Research Institute of Land Policies from the US was held, as well as the ceremony celebrating the first publication of Chinese versions of "Land Planning & Administration" and "Supervision of Land Market & Urban Rational Developments".

On September 15, China's new amendment of land-using planning officially started. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony of the advanced-studying class jointly conducted by the Ministry of Land and Resources and Lincoln Research Institute of Land Policies from the US was held, as well as the ceremony celebrating the first publication of Chinese versions of "Land Planning & Administration" and "Supervision of Land Market & Urban Rational Developments". More than 100 Chinese specialists and specialists from the US were at present.

According to a leading cadre of the Ministry, China has carried out two rounds of drawing-up and practice of the utilization of national lands since the 1980's, and the new general planning and amendment of land-using has been launched while China's urbanization and industrialization is accelerated.

It is under such a background that the international advanced-studying class is conducted to summarize the land using and planning experience of US and China and approach the relationship between using lands to collaborate economic and social developments and the resource utilization and ecological protection.

It is of great importance. China's new amendment of land-using must adheres to the principles of integrating the economic development with the protection of land resources, strictly protecting farmlands, carrying out economy and exploration at the same time, with economy on the former, raising the utilization efficiency of lands, protecting and promoting ecological environment and ensuring the sustainable utilization of lands, this leading cadre accentuates.
