The Philippines didn't recover from the first set failure and lost the next one with only seven points. However, the Filipino women, with an average height of 172 centimeters, set a brilliant defense in the third set and led into the first timeout 11-6.

In front of the Chinese substitutional players, the Philippineskept the lead until 21-all before Chinese Song Nina and Zhang Yuehong teamed up to score four points to ensure China win its second match in the championship.

"The young players didn't do well in the serve and receive. When we fell behind, they were a little bit nervous," explained coach Chen after the match, "I didn't make any replacements, I want them to come over the nervous by themselves."

Desael Delos Santos, Philippine assistant coach, said that theydidn't dream to gain the victory.

"We came here to learn, not to defeat China," said Santos, "We are not a strong team right now, but I think we will be one of them after seven or eight years."

Defending champion China will crash against runner-up South Korea on Monday.
