Bulgaria, China sign cooperation agreement in education

Bulgarian students in China and Chinese students in Bulgaria will not have to pay education fees under a bilateral agreement on educational cooperation for the 2004-2007 period.

Bulgarian students in China and Chinese students in Bulgaria will not have to pay education fees under a bilateral agreement on educational cooperation for the 2004-2007 period.

The document was signed by Bulgarian Education and Science Minister Igor Damyanov and Chinese Vice Minister for Education Yuan Guiren during the latter's three-day visit to Bulgaria.

The agreement envisages training of 25 full-time and part-time post-graduate students, university students and doctoral candidates on a reciprocal basis.

Fellowships will also be granted to cover student accommodation expenses and the two sides will exchange Bulgarian and Chinese language lecturers.
