New compact car rolls out in east China

A new compact automobile named "Ideal" ran off the assembly line of the Changhe Group factory on Sunday.

A new compact automobile named "Ideal" ran off the assembly line of the Changhe Group factory on Sunday.

The 1.1 liter engine new model will be priced at roughly 56,800 yuan (6,843 U.S. dollars). The fuel consumption is less than 5 liters per 100 km and the tail gas emission measures up to the Europe II standard, according to the company.

The Bertone-designed car targets the family market and young consumers, and the company will introduce 1.2 liter and 1.3 liter engine models later, said Yang Jinhuai, chairman of the company.

The cost-efficient car is safe with a series of devices including anti-skid brake system (ABS), safety belts, double airbags and multiple locks.
