Railway security to be strengthened in China

People who attempt to make jams on railways and stop running trains will be punished in China, said a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Public Security on Monday.

People who attempt to make jams on railways and stop running trains will be punished in China, said a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Public Security on Monday.

Railways are the artery of the national economy and smooth railway traffic is vital to the sustainable and sound development of the national economy, said the spokesman.

The spokesman said public security departments should deal with violations of railway traffic rules according to related regulations and give prison punishment to those who plan, foment and organize these violations.
