China expects to launch a new satellite by the end of this year under the Double-Star project, the China State Aerospace Bureau and the European Aerospace Bureau's joint space exploration initiative.

The China Aerospace Technology Research Institute says it has completed the assembly of the satellite and is now testing it along with its Long-March carrier rocket. This satellite will be one of two to be launched by China.

They will join the four European satellites already in the orbit to explore never-before studied aerospace environments.
