China's vice premier calls for further economic reform

Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju stressed that a coordinated way should be carried out in further deepening the economic reform and improving the socialist market economic system.

Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju stressed that a coordinated way should be carried out in further deepening the economic reform and improving the socialist market economic system.

Huang made this remark during his inspection tour in eastern China's Shandong Province from Oct. 1 to Oct. 5

The relatively developed eastern regions should accelerate economic development and realize modernization first in some qualified areas, and the economic development should be achieved in a coordinated way, which attaches importance to the unity of speed, structure and profit, Huang said.

Much attention should be paid to the harmonious development in cities and villages, at western and eastern regions, among economic and social fields, between human and nature, Huang stressed.

Huang said that the reform of state assets management and supervision system should be accelerated to achieve the value saving and increment.

After studying the social security systems and job creation in the province, Huang said the re-employment and social security cause must be speeded up to maintain social stability.

All possible efforts should be made to create new jobs and re-employ the laid-off workers, he said, adding that the budget on social security should be increased and more poor people should be covered in social aid.

During his inspection tour of Shangdong, Huang visited some keys tate-owned enterprises in Jinan, vegetable bases in Shouguang andindustrial parks in Qingdao.
