To raise the openness and transparency of judicial work the Supreme People's Court will from next year publish on its bulletin more information on judicial activities.

The information to be made known to the public include: judicial interpretation and administrative norm; documents on the verdicts of major and typical lawsuits; the general situation of various civil lawsuits heard by the Supreme Court; and typical cases heard by local courts and statistics of cases heard nationwide.

To establish and improve an open, just and fair trial mechanism is one of the general goals of the judicial reform of people's court, said Cao Jianming, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court. The people's court should, according to law, not only make known the procedures and results of cases heard, but important information on related judicial activities.

Cao stressed that the further publication of judicial information of various kinds is a measure facilitating the masses to better exercise their rights of learning the truth and rights of participating in and supervising the court work.

To adapt to the needs of timely publication of information on trial activities, the Supreme People's Court Bulletin will be enlarged and published monthly. Related information can also be found on the site of the supreme court.
