China Youth magazine celebrates 80th anniversary

China Youth, the first magazine set up by the Communist Party of China (CPC), held a symposium Saturday in Beijing to celebrate its 80th anniversary.

China Youth, the first magazine set up by the Communist Party of China (CPC), held a symposium Saturday in Beijing to celebrate its 80th anniversary.

Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, sent a letter of congratulations to the magazine.

Wang Zhaoguo, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, gave a speech, calling for the magazine to be more in tune with young people and to be a teacher and friend.

Wang spoke highly of China Youth, saying the magazine had been devoted to building a spiritual world and acted as a guide for young people.

China Youth is the official magazine of the Communist Youth League of China, the largest organization of young people in China.
