CDB grants loan for expressway construction in north China

The Shanxi branch of China Development Bank, a policy bank set up in Beijing in 1994, will grant 5.5 billion yuan (663 million US dollars) of loans for the construction of a 210-km expressway in Shanxi Province in north China.

The Shanxi branch of China Development Bank, a policy bank set up in Beijing in 1994, will grant 5.5 billion yuan (663 million US dollars) of loans for the construction of a 210-km expressway in Shanxi Province in north China.

At a total cost of 6.89 billion yuan (830 million dollars), construction of the expressway will start at the end of the year and is expected to be completed in 2006.

The expressway, running south from Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi, to Changzhi, is a key local section and also an important part of the state expressway trunk linking Taiyuan and Macao.
