Indonesia has denied the US request for a "no-flight zone" during the upcoming visit of US President George W. Bush in Bali, said Indonesian security chief here on Monday.

"There will be no so-called no-flight zone, the airport will not be closed for four to six hours during the visit," said Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

During his three-hour stay in Indonesia on Wednesday, Bush will meet with his Indonesian counterpart Megawati Soekarnoputri and a number of Muslim leaders on the resort island of Bali.

Susilo said the talks would be held in a hotel near the Ngurah Rai international airport in Denpasar, the capital of Bali province.

Earlier reports said the US authorities had demanded a no-flight zone in the airport during President Bush's brief visit.
