Chinese president winds up visit to New Zealand

Chinese President HuJintao wounded up his state visit to New Zealand on Monday, and was on his way back home.

Chinese President HuJintao wounded up his state visit to New Zealand on Monday, and was on his way back home.

During his three-day visit there, Hu met New Zealand Governor-General Dame Silvia Cartwright and held talks with Prime Minister Helen Elizabeth Clark.

Both sides had in-depth discussions on efforts to deepen the China-New Zealand relationship of all-around cooperation as well as international and regional issues of common concern.

The Chinese president also met representatives from the industrial and trade circle. The two countries signed documents on cooperation in the field of science and technology.

Prime Minister Clark, New Zealand parliament Speaker Jonathan Lucas Hunt, Chinese ambassador to New Zealand Chen Mingming were among those who went to see the Chinese president off at the airport.

Hu started his visit to New Zealand on Saturday at the invitation of Governor-General Cartwright. Earlier, he visited Thailand and Australia, and attended the 11th informal Economic Leaders' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in the Thai capital of Bangkok.
