Chinese military invests 950 million yuan on housing

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) has decided to invest 950 million yuan (110 million US dollars) on a house building program, which is scheduled for completion in three years, the PLA Daily reported Monday.

Approved by the Central Military Commission, the houses will accommodate visiting family members of the army's sergeants.

The apartments will have one bedroom, one sitting room, one kitchen and one toilet.

Construction of the first houses has been completed and they are expected to house some 100,000 visiting family members early next year.
