Among the wounded people, 65 were Iraqi policemen and 159 were civilians, Deputy Interior Minister Ahmad Ibrahim told a press conference.
Earlier on Monday, Ibrahim appeared at the scene of one of the bombed sites, shouting that Saddam Hussein was behind the deadly attacks in which Iraqis were killed.
Five car bombings, most of which have been confirmed as suicide bombings, rocked a Red Cross base and four Iraqi police stations across Baghdad within one hour in the morning.
Monday is the first day of Ramadan, or Muslim holy month, in Iraq. It is also the first Ramadan observed in the war-torn nation after the downfall of Saddam's regime.
