State Council demands to handle dangerous wastes properly

The State Council Wednesday approved a program on construction of disposal facilities for dangerous and medical wastes, at a regular standing meeting.

The State Council Wednesday approved a program on construction of disposal facilities for dangerous and medical wastes, at a regular standing meeting.

Premier Wen Jiabao presided over the meeting.

Participants to the meeting believed that it is imperative to curb the illegal discharge of dangerous, medical and radioactive wastes and handle the dangerous and medical wastes properly so as to prevent the spread of illness and guarantee the health of the people and the safety of the environment.

They also demanded localities and relevant departments to build wastes disposal facilities in accordance with law.
