More than 10 big contracts each worth 30 million yuan (3.6 million US dollars) in investment will be signed by Guangdong Province, and Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions.

Yu Binglin, vice-secretary of Zhuhai Municipal Committee of theCommunist Party of China (CPC), announced the news at a briefing on the World Economic Development Declaration Conference (WEDDC) and the China Business Summit here Wednesday.

Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, all located in the Pearl River Delta, already have frequent people and capital exchanges.

China's central government signed the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) with Hong Kong and Macao governments in last June and October respectively, creating more opportunities for business cooperation.

The WEDDC, due to open Thursday, would arrange a Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Investment Environment Promotion Fair and Economic and Trade Talks on Thursday afternoon, which would attract more than 1,000 officials and business people, said Yu.

During the fair, officials from the three areas would outline their investment environments and future development plans. After the conference, participants from Hong Kong and Macao would tour 21 cities of Guangdong.

Guangdong governor Huang Huahua, Macao SAR Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah, and Donald Tsang, representative of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, will speak at the fair.

Zhang Xiaoyu, secretary-general of the WEDDC Organizing Committee, said as a major bridge linking Guangdong with Hong Kongand Macao, Zhuhai city had established close ties with Hong Kong and Macao during its economic growth.

The WEDDC will help set a platform in Zhuhai through which Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao would strengthen their close ties with each other, and promote the integration of the Pearl River Delta, said Zhang.
