The August 1 (Bayi) team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), two-time champion of the Chinese women's basketball league (WCBA), has decided to switch its home stadium to the Helong Gymnasium in this Hunan Provincial capital.

According to an agreement recently signed by the PLA sports administration and the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau, the local sports bureau will be the sole agent for the management and marketing business of the gymnasium for the next three years.

The gymnasium, named to the late PLA general and former chief of China's national sports authorities, will be one of the main venues for WCBA league competitions for the new season starting next February.

The PLA women's basketball team had been based in Suzhou, a city in the eastern Jiangsu Province.
