Huang Ju meets international merger experts

China will learn from the successful experience of other countries in the management and supervision of state-owned assets, Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju said Wednesday.

China will learn from the successful experience of other countries in the management and supervision of state-owned assets, Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju said Wednesday.

Huang said China would continue to perfect the circulation system of state capital so as to maintain and increase the value of state-owned assets.

He made the remarks during a meeting with a number of international personages attending the International Merger and Acquisition Summit Beijing 2003 that opened in Beijing Wednesday.

Huang said the Third Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) had made a decision on perfecting the socialist market economy system.

The CPC meeting had put forward specific requirements for further reinforcing and developing the state-owned sector, actively adopting various forms of public ownership and accelerating readjustment of the lay-out and structure of the state-owned sector, he said.

Huang said China would take more effective ways to develop the state-owned sector, improve the efficiency of managing state-ownedassets and add impetus to economic growth.

The forum co-sponsored by the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of China (SASAC) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization was the first large-scale international conference held by SASAC. The minister in charge of SASAC attended and delivered a speech at the meeting.
