China has rewarded the creators of audio-visual products for their excellent content and artistic form in introducing science and technology, as part of a campaign to popularize science and technology nationwide.

At the 8th scientific and technological audio-visual products award ceremony on Friday, the China Association for Science and Technology and the State Administration of Press and Publication (SAPP) awarded prizes for 99 works with various themes.

Wu Shangzhi, an official with the SAPP Audio-Visual & Electronic Publication Management Department, said a total of 313 works participated in the awards judgment.

Experts said audio-visual products were welcomed by the public for their vivid form with picture and sound, were much easier to understand than books, and the award was set up to encourage better creation and publication of scientific and technological products, and to further promote the widespread use of science and technology.
