Senior CPC leader vows to strike hard on crimes

A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) leader said on Saturday China will crack down on sabotage activities by anti-government forces, separatist forces, religious extremists, terrorists and other criminal activities.

A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) leader said on Saturday China will crack down on sabotage activities by anti-government forces, separatist forces, religious extremists, terrorists and other criminal activities.

Luo Gan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, called on the country's police to continue the strike against violent crimes, organized crimes, drug trafficking, economic crimes and robbery in a bid to contain the rising incidence momentum of those crimes and maintainsocial stability.

Addressing the 20th National Meeting on Public Security, Luo, also secretary of the Committee of Political Science and Law under CPC Central Committee, stressed the need to fight against Falun Gong cult, prevent and punish illegal activities involving other cults.

He called for efforts to curb rising crimes in some localities,and explore ways to prevent and reduce crimes in order to create along-term, stable and harmonious social environment for the country's drive to build a well-off society.
